Hayley’s Jump Rope for Heart donation link

Hi! I’m joining in the American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart event at my school. I will be jumping rope to help the American Heart Association raise money to fight heart disease and stroke. Can you help me by making a donation? Thanks!

The American Heart Association’s online fundraising website has a minimum donation amount of $25.00. If you want to donate less, that’s ok. You can just send the check right to me and I’ll make sure the American Heart Association gets it.

Photos this morning before school

Hayley was just too cute this morning. It is going to hit 70 degrees so she was dragging out cute spring stuff to wear.

Quick, someone stop her from growing up before I go nuts!

And yes, the sweater over the shoulders was Hayles’ idea – my little preppie in training tickles me!

Photo Gallery: UNC women’s hoop senior night

We went to Senior Night for Ivory Latta and Camille Little last night. I’m really glad we went. We adore both of them so much and I really wanted to honor their contributions to UNC basketball.

I’ve been casual friends with Camille’s mom since I used to cover her in HS and remember even driving up to an inner city church in Winston to see Camille commit to UNC. Hayley loves Ivory who has been just as nice to her as someone could be, which makes me love Ivory even if she wasn’t arguably the best women’s basketball player in the country.

I took most of the non-action photos but Hayles tooks a lot of the games ones. She is getting so good. She fell asleep in the car on the way home and Jeff came out to carry her inside, so cute.

Photo: Snow Day!

WRAL is running photos from viewers so I had to send in one from the front yard this morning, just a simple cute shot of kids all bundled up playing. From left to right, it is Victor, Simon, Gabby and Hayley.

Victor and Gabby are twins whose backyard touches ours and they are less than a month older than Hayley. Simon moved here this summer, just two houses down from us on the culdesac and is right now playing upstairs with Hayley. The four kids play together often, as a foursome or split up in twos. We love living on a street full of kids but it was an extra stroke of luck to have four really close in age.

Photo: Visiting Landon at NICU

We went to see our friend’s Sara and Mike (who came over for Xmas) and their new baby, who just need some time in the NICU to get on track. I’ll post some more photos soon but our friend Andrea took a cute one of me and Hayley.

I realized I never posted what my funky hair looks like… You can see the streaks of pink and blonde.

Video: Pick up the Party

Hayley and her friend Abigail had a sleepover tonight. At some point we got the fine idea to make a music video. So they wrote a song, dressed up like rockers and put on makeup. They worked out playing it (Abigail on lead vocals with Hayley on drums and backup vocals) and I taped them.

It was hysterical fun – I love this age. They are charmed by everything and always ready for silly fun.

Photos: Sleeping angels

Hayley came down and curled up on the couch while I was working on some tricky code. I looked over and found Annabelle asleep parallel to her, which her puppy arm draped across Hayley. When I got up, Annabelle moved to put her head on her elbow. Complete cute overload!

Photo Gallery: Disney

I finally slogged through getting these edited and online. It is now 3:32am but I’m giddy – from being punchy true but also from seeing all these photos again of everyone there (me, Jeff, Hayley, Uncle Jay, Grandma Sharen and Grandpa John). Thanks to Jeff’s folks for this great trip.

There are hundreds of photos posted!

Photo Gallery: Christmas & the Gingerbread Demolition Derby

It starts with a Christmas Eve tradition where we make gingerbread house … and this year it was a triplex … three kits put together … And it ends with our Christmas day tradition where we pick off what we want, haul it to the cul de sac and smash it with remote control cars … as you can tell, we are a really sweet family. Also some Christmas day photos

Hello everyone … a few photos of Hayley from the GSK basketball tournament

I’ve been so remiss in posting photos because I have so darned many of them from Disney and Christmas to get through. Hayley and I are over at the GSK Holiday Invitational from the 27-29th, where I’m media director and Hayley is a ballgirl (she had Coach Roy Williams sign her new high tops last night). I’ll posted a few photos of her.

So don’t think my lack of postings mean anything is wrong. We are also sorting out some issues with the blog b/c WRAL changed formats.

Day One

Handing out balls.

Watching the action with Ward, they’ve been doing this for three years so far.

Watching the inbounds

Day Two

Waiting during halftime.

Bit of ball handling skills work

Coach Roy Williams’ signature on her new high tops
