For the fourth we made red, white and blue tie-dyed shirts and then totally dorked out, with the three of us wearing them with khaki shorts. Then we went over to our friends Mike, Sara and Landon’s house for a cookout.
We finally did our tie-dye project in the days before July 4th. Our red, white and blue concoctions had some good and bad points but it was a lot of fun and not even a big mess!
The funny thing is all my hard work ended up not being on MY shirt but Jeff’s shirt. His turned out well while mine ended up looking like an abstract art canvas. Hayley called it that, which is pretty cool that she gets art forms but I digress. She decided to just speckle the heck out of hers and what we thought was Jeff’s but ended up as mine. Even messy they were fun and cute. She loved making them and we are definitely going to do it again.
And I’ll have you know the people working at a local grocery store thought we were very cool in our shirts. We had a really good time at the Rodgers, as always. Hayley loves to play with Landon and he loves to mimic her. We ate, goofed off, played the Wii and watched the kids be silly.

Nothing much else to say but she just gets cuter and cuter every day! Took this photo while running errands after lunch at Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Chapel Hill.

Jeff just keeps getting older while I stay forever 25, haha. His last birthday before the big 4-0. Enjoy 39 baby, old age awaits us both! Hopefully all of the rest of our birthday will turn out like this photo of us – those damn rowdy cupcakes!

As many of you know, Jeff spent the past few years working on his Certified Public Accountant license. Classes and a long series of exams meant a ton of work. He passed all five exams on the first try and we are so proud of him!
We’ve been waiting for his actual CPA license to arrive and it finally did.

I’m running behind on photos as always! These are from when Hayley’s team played in the Julian Brown soccer tournament in Charlotte in April.
I took Hayley and her teammate Gabbie down early on the train down since they were tracked out, we went to Discovery Place and goofed off! It was a great trip and we loved the new Hyatt Place hotel in Charlotte.
There are four chunks in the gallery – train trip, discovery place, hotel room and action shots from the tournament.

Jeff’s parents John and Sharen are touring Rome and Greece with the Virginia Tech women’s basketball team. The team has a blog with photos from the games and site seeing and we found a few photos of his folks.

We keep telling people how much Hayley grew and thinned out. She’s all arms and legs these days. I had to spread her arms so you could see how long they are. Then she and Jeff did it together, mind you he is 6-3 and she’s adopted but she is so lanky like he is right now.

I love traditions and for the fourth year in a row, we’ve decorated eggs with our next door neighbors and done a big hunt in the morning across our front yards for the kids. It’s so fun to do this with them each time and watch our kids grow up together.
A few days before the big hunt, we had more friends join us for decorating so it was a lot of fun – and a lot of mess but that’s part of the fun!

This might have been the longest party circuit ever! Cupcakes at school, big cookie at soccer, family party at home and then big party with friends at WiiBounce. WiiBounce is half flat screens and Wiis and half bouncy inflatables.
It was SO FUN. We didn’t take a ton of photos because we were having so much fun. The idea of having her friends bring pet items for the shelter instead of gifts was a huge success. Kids had fun getting them, parents didn’t have to worry about wrapping and getting the right stuff and we didn’t have to worry about unwrapping so the kids played longer. We’ll take all the stuff to the SCPA soon too!
The family party was fun too, she got her Wii and all sorts of goodies to go with it. Everyone joined in playing the Wii, even the grandparents!
