Photo Gallery: First swim of the year

Grandma Sharen and her friends were staying in Raleigh at a hotel that had opened their pool so we hit the water!

And by hit the water, I meant it literally in this case.

Photos from the Rat for my mom

0

We hit the Rat after a day of shopping for Final Four gear. I was reminded of my days of being there with mom and her stories from eating there as a kid.

So for her, we scribbled on the walls, ate garlic bread and I had the lasagna aka bowl of cheese. I took some photos with my palm but this place is way dark and shady, so they came out bad. And unfortunately, the cave part is closed.

Photos: Graves of people I love

0

This might be a bit odd but I took photos of the graves of people I love. Hayley and I went to the graveyard to check it out, remarkably she wasn’t afraid, just curious.

My dear Uncle Mike who died at 29.

My aunt Melanie who died at birth.

My beloved grandparents. Grandfather Caesar (Jim) and grandmother Jeannette. (photos of them below)

Photo Gallery: Adoption Petitions!

0

The lawyer has send the official adoption petitions to sign, notarize and send to the Clerk of Court! The Clerk will process the paperwork in 30 to 90 days and then issue a new birth certificate for Hayley Elizabeth Hillison! That’s it – we don’t go to court, we just get the paperwork in the mail that everything is done. Sorta anti-climatic but as long as she is ours, I really don’t care.

Her wonderful DSS social workers are coming this week as well to say goodbye. Their time with her is coming to an end and while it is sad, it is also a big step for her towards normalcy. And they go to court on the 23rd as well to report on her status, so they can say they have seen her.

Official adoption petitions!

Happy Hayley

Photo Gallery: Moon Shoes!

On our trip up to Blacksburg, Hayley got an early Xmas present from Grandma Sharen & Grandpa John. It was some moon shoes that you put on your feet and jump – and you can get BIG air jumping on them. Much fun was had!

I have a slew of more photos to post but here are some of Hayley with our families during the UNC-VT weekend. I’ll post photos from the game itself next.

Oh and it is bubble wrap that Hayley is popping in the photos.

Photo Gallery: Family heads to the UNC-VT game

With Jeff, Michelle, Hayley, Uncle Jay, Granddad John, Grandma Sharen and Grandpa Tommy, we hit the UNC-VT game.

We had a great time, by the second half we had everyone sitting together and having a blast.

Hayley got to wear her winter UNC cheerleading uniform and we all got to enjoy a really good football game.

Muffy & Buffy our family trees

0

We planted two trees in the backyard on the day came to live with us. Both are magnolias. Hayley decided they should be named Muffy and Buffy – and so they are!
