Short clip of Hayley swimming this summer in a freestyle relay. She is the youngest of the 9-10s, swimming against bigger 10 year olds in a main event (not a heat). She usually starts sorta slow because she just got diving down but watch her closing speed!
Most of Hayley’s High School Musical drama and dance camp performance from late this summer. They performed a variety of songs and skits from the movie.
Four-minute video of two-thirds of Hayley’s first horse show. She finished second overall and had a lot of fun!
They went in groups of two and the other child is the owner’s daughter. They said they didn’t have to wear the full outfit with jackets so we took them up on that!
No one can snuggle or smooch downstairs without Annabelle literally hurling herself between you and licking like crazy. She also enjoys combing and chewing on hair from above. Soon we’ll have new living room furniture and she can’t launch her aerial attacks!

Hayley has a horse show soon and soccer games are about to start. On the very same day, her home & away soccer uniforms arrived as did her new jodhpurs and shirts for the horse show. Thank goodness she is exempt from wearing the jacket since it will be HOT still for the first horse show.
And yes I know those jerseys look huge – the shorts and socks do too. I picked the size based on advice from someone who knew and was looking at her. I’ve actually ordered a 2nd set of gear in the next size down just as extras since they have to bring each of their uniforms to each game and with travel tournaments coming up, I don’t want to be washing stuff in a hotel room.
She picked #20 because it was the number of one of her favorite UNC women’s basketball players plus it was my number whenever I could get it as a kid and I wore it in HS.

Hayley’s recital at her HS Musical drama and dance summer camp. They were all very cute and had tons of fun. She even met a girl who ended up in her class at school as a new student so that worked out really well.

Wednesday night I took Hayley and her friend to see Corbin Bleu, Drake Bell, Ally & AJ in concert. Talk about insanely screaming kids, my hearing is still partially gone I think. Ally & AJ were better than I expected but between the High School Musicalfans to see Corbin and the Drake & Josh fans to see Drake, the boys definitely got more noise!
They were bummed that Corbin didn’t do anything from HS Musical 1 or 2 but he did do the main song from Jump In as an encore and came out in the Izzy Daniels boxing robe.
Drake was great – better than I expected as well. He’s got a whole mod, early-beatles sorta thing going on with the music and style. Luckily he did the theme song of the show, which we ALL screamed along with him. He did the song he released last season I think on the show as well as the new song that was the center of the story for the Really Big Shrimp Drake & Josh special.
(i didn’t take all these photos, some of them a friend sent to me. the security guys said my camera was too professional to bring into the concert so i could only use my cell phone camera.)
Hayley and I went down to the beach to visit my old college roommate and pledge class buddy, Nicole. We got our first apartment together and I still remember moving in that day. It had been over 15 years since we saw each other but we picked right back up and had a lot of fun with them, including her adorable and smart son Mason.
I didn’t take the camera down on the beach but I did to the aquarium and the waterslides! I only wish I’d gotten a photo of Nicole and I together.

Our webkinz blog www.atomicolicious.com has taken off. It started climbing over the past few weeks, hitting about 600-800 page views a day. Then the past week has been a new high almost every day. Friday – 1,300 page views… Saturday – 1,800 page views and then Sunday a whopping 4,733 page views and one post with 350 comments alone. Today was 3,600 page views and a post now has 490 comments.
Hayley is so excited by it all. Evidently parents are cool with their kids on the blog b/c it is overseen by a mother and the kids like to trade object through the blog, not to mention get hints, etc. I’ve had so many nice posts from parents. One told me that their kid had read more of our blog than the combination of all the books he cracked this summer – and the parent thought it was awesome because the kid was happy to read it.
Hayley loves posting on it. She is now comfortable with taking a screenshot, cropping and saving it in photoshop, then ftping it to our server and posting it in the blog with some text. I helped her but she typed her first line of straight html on Friday. She can now copy an img src line and edit it to call a different image. How cool is that?? She just thinks this is all fun, not writing, editing, coding and such.
Our latest addition to the blog is …. we did a video news broadcast for the blog. Hayley worked so hard, writing and setting it all up. She planned it all out and was so excited. She even helped me edit things, picking colors, writing stuff up and setting the order, etc.
