Freshman year – check!

Really proud of her for this! Not an easy task juggling soccer and academics but she’s handling it so well.

Doobie Brothers & Steely Dan

I lost count of the number of Steely Dan shows I’ve been to… but they never get old. RIP Walter Becker, you were missed.

Ink

Hayley has been begging for a tattoo so I made her a deal. I would pay for it if she did the following things: pick a design and wait a year, get a temporary version of it for a few weeks and ensure her future career will not be impacted. After she complied, we headed off to the only place I consider worthy around here, Mad Ethel’s. It’s appointments only, all custom artwork, just a really quality experience.

The truth is at 20 years old, she was old enough to do this if she wanted without my permission. So if she was willing to make a thoughtful decision, I supported it. Hell I got one in college too. Plus momma wanted some new ink too 😉

Busted for moonshine

Maybe my favorite genealogy find in a long time – my great-granddad busted for having moonshine in his house in Pittsburgh. They owned three houses on the lot and looks like a renter had a pile of junk too. Crazy!

The Peace Freshman!

Hayley moved into her dorm early for soccer stuff and now is an official college freshman!

Signing Day for Hayley

Finally officially done! Hayley signed with Peace today to play soccer. She plans to major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psych. We are so proud of her!

We are all really thrilled about this. Peace was my first choice for her all along and as the process went on, it became her and Jeff’s first choice too. We really like the soccer coach who is brand new this year and Hayley is already having fun getting to know her teammates next year.

A huge thanks to everyone who helped our daughter, academically, athletically or otherwise, over the years.

First part of Hayley’s senior photos by the amazing Graham Morrison. Trey took photos with Graham too and they took some cute ones together too.

Myles of Science 2016

Hayley went back to Myles of Science again this summer. The kids, along with college counselors, hike and camp in the Great Smoky Mountains for a week while doing research on snail and salamander populations.
